An Easy Way to Reach A Wider PPC Audience: Advertise On DuckDuckGo

Are you advertising on DuckDuckGo?

Did you know roughly 80 million people use DuckDuckGo as their search engine each month?

You didn’t?

It’s true.

And you may also be excited to learn that DuckDuckGo offers PPC ads, allowing you to reach all those people (and growing) when they search for your keywords.

DuckDuckGo prides itself on only showing search ads based on actual search queries versus any tracking or contextual or behavioral targeting.

If you’re a company, you may be wondering – how do you advertise on DuckDuckGo?

Fun fact: You may already be doing it!

If you are serving ads via Microsoft Advertising (or “Bing Ads), your ads will automatically enter into all of Microsoft Advertising’s distribution channels, including DuckDuckGo, unless you’ve turned off that setting manually. Think of this as the setting for advertising on “Search Partners Network” if we were talking about Google Ads.

To make sure your Microsoft Ads are eligible to show on DuckDuckGo, complete the following steps:

  1. Login to your Microsoft Ads account
  2. Navigate into a selected campaign and adgroup
  3. Click “Settings”
  4. Expand the “Other Settings” menu
  5. Expand the “Ad Distribution” menu
  6. Ensure you’ve selected the setting for “All search networks”

This is just a simple account check for companies already advertising on Microsoft Advertising and is a great way to just ensure you have coverage across more distribution channels. As always, make sure to continue to check in on reports often and make adjustments if targeting all distribution channels isn’t working for your business.
